Privacy Policy

Capzo operates the video caption service at capzo.ai. Contact us at [email protected] with privacy questions or requests.
Information we process
When you create an account, we process your email address and a securely hashed password. We also record session information such as your sign-in and last-active IP addresses, browser or device information, and session expiry to protect and manage account access.
When you use Capzo, we process videos you upload, audio extracted for transcription, captions, styling choices, account preferences, saved styles, and workspace membership. We store processing status and errors so you can resume work and retrieve finished exports.
We record limited product events, such as creating an account, playing a project preview, editing captions, and completing an export, to understand reliability and improve the service. These event records do not include caption text or email addresses in their event payloads. They are associated with your account and project identifiers.
Why we process this information
We use this information to authenticate you, generate and edit captions, render and deliver exports, save your preferences, support workspace collaboration, calculate plan usage, handle billing, investigate errors, and protect the service.
Service providers
Audio may be sent to a configured transcription provider: OpenAI, Deepgram, or Sarvam AI. The provider used can depend on your selected language and available service configuration. Video and export storage may use Cloudflare R2. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices.
Razorpay handles subscription checkout and payment information. Capzo stores subscription identifiers, subscription status, plan information, and billing-period information. Capzo does not collect or store your card number or payment credentials in its application database.
Workspace access
A workspace's owner and team members can access its projects. Permissions control actions such as editing, exporting, and deleting. A workspace owner or authorised administrator can change a member's access. Do not upload material to a shared workspace unless its members are intended to have access to it.
Cookies and local storage
Capzo uses a session cookie to authenticate your browser. We use local storage to remember your selected workspace and keep a recovery draft of unsaved edits on that device. Recovery drafts are associated with your account and project and are removed after a successful save. Signing out does not necessarily remove a recovery draft from the device. Use a trusted device when working with sensitive content.
Retention and deletion
We keep account information while providing your account and keep project media and captions until the project is deleted. Deleting a project removes its source video, captions, and stored exports from Capzo's active application storage. Temporary processing files are removed after processing finishes. We may retain security, product-event, or payment records where needed to operate the service or meet applicable obligations. Copies held in provider systems or backups may follow separate retention practices.
You can delete projects in the app and change saved preferences and styles. Contact [email protected] to request account deletion, access to your account information, or correction of information you cannot change in the app. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Security
Capzo uses access checks, password hashing, server-managed sessions, and protected media endpoints. Production session cookies are configured for HTTPS. No system can guarantee absolute security. Please keep your sign-in credentials private and review the signed-in devices shown in account settings.
International processing
Service providers and infrastructure may process information in countries other than your own. Contact us if you need information about the providers used for your account.
Changes
We may update this policy as the service changes. The version and date published on this page identify the current policy. Contact [email protected] if a change raises a question about your information.
